Description: This beautiful almond shaped bowl was hewed from an oak tree making the bowl very heavy, hard and strong with outstanding wear-resistance. The golden tone of the oak is contrasted by dark prominent rings. This bowl makes a great salad or fruit bowl and is treated with a penetrating quality of food grade mineral oil, bees and carnauba wax. This finish has water-resistant traits, rejuvenates the wood and prevents drying and cracking. The naturally antibacterial wax protects the wood by keeping the mineral oil in and the moisture out. The bowl needs to be hand washed - the finish can be reconditioned by using butcher-block conditioner (available in most home improvement stores).
